Where to stay:
All events for the Black Hills ATV/UTV Rally will be staged from Nemo, SD, however accommodations in Nemo are somewhat limited. The Nemo Guest Ranch has several cabins but there is no other nearby lodging. There
are also some camp sites in Nemo, but again, the availability is likely to be limited.
The easiest route to Nemo is via Vanocker Canyon Road from Sturgis, a drive of approximately 18 miles. Hill City is the next closest town with lodging,
it is about 25 miles via US16 east to US385 north then Merritt Road east to Nemo Road. (Alternatively, you can use the slightly longer route of US16 east to US385 then north to SD44 then east to Norris Peak Road north to Nemo Road.)
Rapid City is
roughly the same distance via Nemo Road, however finding Nemo Road in Rapid City may require some time to study a map. From Downtown Rapid City, follow Omaha Street west and eventually it will become Nemo Road.
Keystone, is another good spot
for lodging. The route from Keystone is US16A east to US16 west then 385 north to Merritt road then on to Nemo. About a 40-minute drive.
Towns such as Custer, Hot Springs and Spearfish are less convenient, however the drives are not unpleasant.
The Black Hills ATV/UTV Rally will occur during the Black Hills “peak” season, so expect lodging rates to be somewhat higher than other times of the year. Average room rates will be in the $100 to $200 range with the major chains
like Holiday Inn charging more.
